How to register your restaurant menu items and prices in Qatar

Published 1 November 2026 · Basira for Transactions

If you are opening a restaurant or café in Qatar, or changing your menu or prices, you will need to register your items and their prices with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. This guide explains the steps in plain language.

Why register each item?

The Ministry requires items and their prices to be registered before they are sold, so the price shown to consumers is clear and approved. Malls and delivery apps often ask for proof of registration before listing your products.

What to prepare

  • A valid commercial registration and establishment card.
  • Your item list: name, description and sales unit (piece, cup, plate…).
  • A clear photo of each item.
  • The selling price of each item.
  • The branches and sales outlets where each item is sold.

The steps

  1. Review the menu and identify new items and items whose price changed.
  2. Enter each item's data, photo and price on the Ministry platform.
  3. Link each item to the outlets where it is sold.
  4. Follow up until approval and receive a registration certificate per item.

What does it cost?

The cost depends on the number of items and branches. At Basira for Transactions it is QAR 100 per item including 5 sales outlets, plus QAR 10 for each extra outlet per item. Example: 20 items in 3 branches = QAR 2,000. Work out your own case in the restaurant calculator.

Common mistakes that cause delays

  • Unclear photos, or photos carrying other brands' logos.
  • Item names that differ between the menu and the application.
  • Forgetting a new branch when registering items.
  • Raising a price without filing a price-increase request.

When prices change

Any increase in the price of a registered item needs a price-increase request, and any new item needs its own registration. Plan menu changes in one batch to save time and cost.
